With the trade deadline freshly behind us, it’s time once again to talk it out. Chaim Bloom and company, in a pair of moves that were widely praised from the seller’s perspective, flipped Dustin May and JoJo Romero in a trade with the Brewers and then sent Lars Nootbaar to the Diamondbacks. The trade with Milwaukee fetched the Cards a pair of outfield prospects — 18-year-old Alexander Frias, who’s probably going to be a top 50 overall prospect going into 2027, and 22-year-old Josiah Ragsdale, who’s enjoyed massive breakout season at the High-A and Double-A levels in 2026. From Arizona, the Cardinals received a pair of arms, right-handed starter prospect Daniel Eagen and lefty relief prospect Sandro Santana.

With this season more than two-thirds over, how do the Cardinals think the Ivan Herrera at Catcher trial is working? Who do you think will be our most frequent catcher in the 2027 season?
What really sucks is that it’s quite likely that after Dec 1, MLB will shut down and the Hot Stove league will only exist on the labor bargaining table.
