With the trade deadline freshly behind us, it’s time once again to talk it out. Chaim Bloom and company, in a pair of moves that were widely praised from the seller’s perspective, flipped Dustin May and JoJo Romero in a trade with the Brewers and then sent Lars Nootbaar to the Diamondbacks. The trade with Milwaukee fetched the Cards a pair of outfield prospects — 18-year-old Alexander Frias, who’s probably going to be a top 50 overall prospect going into 2027, and 22-year-old Josiah Ragsdale, who’s enjoyed massive breakout season at the High-A and Double-A levels in 2026. From Arizona, the Cardinals received a pair of arms, right-handed starter prospect Daniel Eagen and lefty relief prospect Sandro Santana.

Dayn - I’m a bit concerned about Masyn Winn’s offense. His production has regressed every season. From the naked eye I have no idea what his approach is. His back foot is all over the place. He doesn’t appear to have a plan. Do you have concern or insight into his offense?
If everyone currently in the organization hits their ceiling, is the ideal 2029 rotation Cijtnje, Matthews, Doyle, Roby and Clarke? Not necessarily in that order. Or is that underselling Tanner Franklin and others?
