The Chaim Bloom era in St. Louis was already upon us, but on Tuesday it began in earnest as the Cardinals sent veteran right-hander Sonny Gray and $20 million in cash to the Red Sox in exchange for one promising prospect – 22-year-old lefty Brandon Clarke – and right-hander Richard Fitts, who used up his rookie status this past season and will turn 26 in December.
